A Turkish court just imposed fines enforcing a 1928 ban on letters not existing in the Turkish alphabet. These letters are used in the minority Kurdish alphabet and European Union pressure has caused some recent reforms, although they are slow to take effect. Looks like it wouldn’t affect Scrabble play though since it only applies to “signs, advertising, newspapers and official documents” according to the Reuters article.
Geoff tells me that there are new threes on the OWL2 that aren’t in the OSPD4 because they aren’t family friendly. This blog is uncensored so I’ll risk offending everyone here with them: HOS, LES, and POO. These threes are apparently on the Three to Four list I just posted.
I’ll get the new three list updated ASAP.
UPDATE: New updated two and three letter word list has been uploaded to the original post.
The following list contains all new front and back hooks on three letter words to make four letter words. New three letter words are bolded.

UPDATE: In case it isn’t obvious. This list is Threes to New Fours. Looks like it doesn’t include hooks from new threes to old fours. I’ll put together a complete three to four list with all new threes and fours bolded and get it up as soon as I can.
Here is the list of TWL98 twos and threes plus new words from OSPD4. New words are not for use in tournament play until March of 2006, but many clubs (including Austin’s) are using them now to get used to them.
File is in printable PDF format. New words are bolded. EMF is in italics since I heard it was being removed. This is not official. I make no gaurantees of accuracy. I am not liable if you play a word from this list and it is challenged off. If you find an error - please tell me by commenting on this post.
Update: New version includes censored words: HOS, LES, and POO. Also now posted in both Acrobat and Excel Formats.
Starting a blog for all of my Scrabble® adventures. Hopefully this will be a useful and fun site for my fellow players. I plan to keep a good amount of news from the Scrabble® world mixed with useful links, puzzles and anything else I can think of.
